So its been a while since I updated my blog with anything real.  I figured today would be a good day to writ down whats been going on in my life.  In the past weeks, I've been to Dragon*con, gotten a dog, fenced, worked my ass off, and watched my alma mater lose to our arch rivals.

When we got back from Pennsic, the weeds in our back yard made the area look like a jungle.  The weeds were over four feet tall in some places.  So I tried using my weed wacker on them to no effect.  I went out to Home Depot (the favorite store of homeowners or the bane of your existance) and bought an attachment for the weed wacker.  Now I can at least cut through the tall grass, without having to use a machette.  Considering that the back yard is now going to see some use do to the dawg, well, I guess I'm going to have to spend a whole bunch of time out there landscaping.  But we'll get to the dog later.

[info]wench25 and I went to Dragon*con in Atlanta for labor Day weekend.  It was an absolute blast.  I usually hate cons, because the ones up here tend to be horror oriented, but this one wasa blast.  I got to meet two of my favorite authors, sat in on a bunch of panels (mainly Star Wars and Firefly/Serenity), saw a live version of Mystery Sience Theater - The Empire Strikes Back, attended the Star Wars Fan Film Festival, and a whole lot more.  Dragon*con is definitely going to be an annual event, so this means Pennsic will probably be scaled back to only one week.  We missed a lot by flying in Saturday morning, since the con opened Thursday night.  Next year I'm definitely bringing some costumes or garb.  I really want to get a set of stormtrooper armor.

Work is keeping me very busy.  I finally am getting my radiology practice client up and running.  I closed the sale in January and the developer promised me the software would be ready ina week  or two, March 1st t the latest.  Well its now September, and I finally have something we can use.  I thank them for their patientce, but now its time to Go, Go, Go!  I need to get paid :)

We got a dog.  His name is Buster and he's from New Orleans.  He's my brother-in-law's bassett hound.  51 pounds of love.  we've taken him in since Justin (my brother-in-law) is now living in a hotel room in Baton Rouge with two other guys.  Which isn't too bad since he tell us that there are rooms with 10-12 people in them.  Justin is also working a ton, since he is on his company's hurricane team.  So at least he's getting paid, and has a place to stay, and they are providing him meals.  But a hotel room is no place for a dog, so being the kind people we are, we took the dog for the time being.  I know [info]wench25 is going to get attached to the dog, but I'm still a sucker for our cat.

I got back home from Atlanta just intime to catch most of the Miami/FSU game Monday night.  Lets just say I wan't happy with the outcome.  Oh well, we have to lose to them sometime I guess. I remember back to the first "Wide Right".  It was my freshman year, and the campus went nuts.  I'll stick with that feeling and live in the satisfaction that FSU is still a girls school.

I've actually made fencing practices the last two weeks.  It feels good to get out and play.  I bought a new mask this week.  I need to get a new set of gloves since my old ones are a bit shot after Pennsic.  I finally started using the 30" schlager I bought before Pennsic.  Oh boy is that a fun weapon.  I was worried that with the short length I might hit too hard, but I seem to be doing just fine with it.  Oh, I feel like I finally got a good night's sleep.

Well, that's all for now folks.
